DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

Common Cents, a not-for-profit organization specializing in creating service-learning programs for young people, is seeking an extraordinary individual to provide financial and administrative direction for a young, energetic, mission-driven staff team.

The Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) will join a team that helps young people change the world through programs like the Penny Harvest, the largest child philanthropy program in the United States.

With responsibility for the fiscal office, information technology, human resources, and office services, the DFA holds an essential role in the strategic development of the organization, and will be in a unique position to contribute to the organization’s growth by sharing ideas and information. The successful candidate will have considerable latitude in redesigning systems and processes to gain efficiencies. As such, the role is ideal for an individual who is a creative, analytical thinker as well as a “doer.”

On a day-to-day basis, the DFA provides financial and accounting services ensuring the integrity of financial operations. Specific tasks include oversight of budgeting, audit, and tax management, preparing internal and external financial reports, assuring adherence to policies and procedures, and daily fiscal operations.

In this hands-on role the DFA supervises a small staff and oversees all operations related to maintenance of the physical office space, as well as administration of human resource functions, including the opportunity to negotiate improved employee benefits.

Other Qualifications include:
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, Master’s degree preferred
• 3 to 5 years of well-rounded accounting experience
• Proven ability to provide accurate reports
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Extensive knowledge of computer applications
• FUND E-Z experience a plus

Common Cents provides an attractive salary and benefits package including fully paid health insurance, generous time off and a retirement plan.

Common Cents is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
