YOUTH BOARD PHILANTHROPY INTERN
Description of the Project: Penny Harvest is seeking an intern to help recruit young
people for the Youth Board, run bi-monthly meetings and schedule trainings and other
activities.
Daily Activities and Responsibilities:

Contacting local agencies to plan Penny Harvest related service projects

Recruiting middle and high school students to serve on the Youth Board
-
Planning, organizing and facilitating Youth Board meetings
General Requirements:

Excellent communication skills
-
Ability to work with people from diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds
-
Passion for working towards social justice
-
Expereince working with youth
-
Great organizational skills
Hours and Benefits:

10-20 hours per week (with a flexible schedule), from September '08 to June '09

Educational enrichment in service-learning, youth philanthropy and the school system

Ability to participate in Solid Ground's Anti-Racism Initiative

YOUTH PHILANTHROPY SUPPORT INTERN
Description of the Project: Penny Harvest is seeking an intern to help recruit and support schools.
Daily Activities and Responsibilities:

Conducting outreach to schools in-person and over the phone to register schools for the fall and support them through the year

Supporting the day-to-day running of the program through emails and phone calls to schools

Entering accurate information into the Penny Harvest database

Assisting with the presentation of Penny Harvest materials at Professional Development and Philanthropy Roundtable trainings

Copying and preparing documents as needed
General Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
- Passion for working towards social justice
- Experience working with youth or in a school environment
Hours and Benefits:
- 10-20 hours per week (with a flexible schedule) from September '08 to June '09. Semester internships are available
- Educational enrichment in service-learning, youth philanthropy and the school system
