MIKE BEEBE, Program Director

Mike Beebe has served as the Program Director for Penny Harvest Seattle/King County since September of 2004. He has over 15 years of experience managing youth leadership programs and is passionate about partnering with young people to create positive social change.  His experience includes managing JustServe AmeriCorps, a youth anti-violence program and Teen Link, a phone line for youth. Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors for Seattle Young People’s Project.

MARYELLEN FERRO, Program Coordinator

Maryellen came to Penny Harvest with extensive youth development experience working in schools. In her role at Crisis Clinic, she coordinated and co-facilitated the Youth Suicide Speaker’s Bureau, a discussion based suicide prevention curriculum aimed at middle and high school students. She has also trained and supervised youth volunteers to take calls on the Teen Link phone line, assisted with the writing of a resource guide for teens, and worked as a phone worker on the 24-Hour Crisis Line. She moved to Seattle from Reston, VA in 2001 to complete a year in the JustServe Americorps program.

MADELEINE MCKENNA, Intern
Madeleine is currently a sophomore at the University of Washington majoring in International Studies and Economics. Although she has done social justice and community development work in both Mexico and Ghana, she could not be more excited to be doing this work in her own backyard. Madeleine is working with Penny Harvest through the Carlson Civic Fellowship, a leadership development and service learning program through the University of Washington.
 
GLENN PUCKETT, Solid Ground Director of Volunteer Resources

Glenn has been providing programmatic oversight for Penny Harvest and Solid Ground's community building programs for five years. Prior to his work as the Director of Volunteer Resources, Glenn spent eight years in private sector management. His experience includes extensive marketing and organizational development. In addition, Glenn has served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer in Moldova.
