In March, Executive Director Teddy Gross challenged Penny Harvest schools to help those who have been hit hard by the economic downturn by adopting a food pantry in their neighborhood. And, answer the call they did!
In just 3 weeks, 188 Penny Harvest Schools – and counting! - have joined The Full Pantry Project, donating $27,327 and pledging to do even more by lending a helpful hand (food drives, distributing food stamp information, painting walls, packing food, etc.).
To make this grant-making process even more meaningful for students, Common Cents is providing curriculum to teachers about nutrition and the root causes of hunger.

Senate Passes Serve America Act!
