The Penny Harvest transforms children into engaged citizens by giving them the knowledge, tools and power to solve real life problems in their communities.
The Penny Harvest is not another school-run fundraiser. It’s a yearlong program that empowers children from preschool to high school to become socially engaged philanthropists.
Over 600 NYC DOE schools participate annually. Each year students begin by launching a school-wide campaign to address community concerns by gathering idle pennies. Students then transform these pennies into
grants and service projects in collaboration with
local community organizations.
